Full shell, not just a palm
The coating covers the whole hand and seals at the cuff, so water does not enter through the back of the glove during immersion or heavy spray.
Fully coated · seamless liner
Fully coated shells over seamless liners: hands stay dry in wet handling, washdown and cold storage work.
A palm-dipped glove keeps your grip dry but lets water in through the back. Waterproof work gloves need a full coating — nitrile or PVC over a seamless knitted liner — with a sealed cuff that stops water running down the wrist.
The trade-off is breathability. A fully coated glove traps heat and moisture, so we size the liner and coating weight to the job: thin for dexterity in wet packing, heavier for cold and abrasive washdown work. Gauntlet cuffs shed water; knit wrists are for light splash only.
A simple test before you commit: fill the glove with water and hold it cuff-up for a minute. A palm-dipped glove will weep through the knitted back almost immediately; a proper full shell holds. When you specify, tell us the depth and duration of exposure — splash, immersion to the wrist, or full arm — because that decides cuff length and coating weight more than the material does.

A rough or sandy finish holds wet and slimy surfaces far better than a smooth shell. We match the finish to what you are lifting.
A fleece-lined version adds insulation for cold storage and winter outdoor work without letting water through the shell.

Ratings depend on liner, gauge and coating. Final values are confirmed on the approved sample.
Palm-dipped gloves are not waterproof. If the hand goes into water, specify a full shell.
| Build | Water resistance | Insulation | Typical use |
|---|---|---|---|
| Full PVC, rough finish | Full immersion | None | Washdown, fisheries, cleaning |
| Full nitrile, sandy | Full immersion | None | Wet handling, oil and water |
| Full nitrile, fleece lined | Full immersion | Medium | Cold storage, winter outdoor |
| Palm dip + knit wrist | Splash only | None | Light wet handling |
Questions buyers ask
If your question is about a specific style, send the spec and we will answer with the sample plan instead of a generic reply.
Only if it is fully coated. A palm-dipped glove lets water through the knitted back and cuff. Ask for a full-shell build when the hand is immersed or heavily sprayed.
No. Waterproofing is not chemical protection. Chemical permeation needs a dedicated glove with breakthrough data for the specific substance.
Use a gauntlet cuff long enough to cover the jacket sleeve, and tighten the jacket over the glove rather than tucking the glove inside. A knit wrist only handles splash.
A full shell traps heat and moisture. For warm wet work choose a thinner liner; for cold work a fleece lining manages moisture better than a bare cotton liner.
